Silverstone ECWA2-LITE PCIe Wi-Fi adapter with 2 dual-band MIMO antennas

SKU CH-XDHM-AEZT2

A Mini PCI-E to PCIe x1 adapter card with two dual-band MIMO antennas that adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you supply your own module

  • Converts Mini PCI-E cards to PCIe x1 for desktop use
  • Supports USB 2.0 signal for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo modules
  • Includes standard and low-profile brackets for flexible case fit
  • Supplies two dual-band MIMO antennas covering 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
  • Requires user-supplied Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module; adapter only

Adapter card for Mini PCI-E wireless modules

The ECWA2-LITE converts a Mini PCI-E Wi-Fi or Bluetooth card into a standard PCI Express x1 device for desktop computers. It carries the module's USB 2.0 signal and provides one spare USB 2.0 header. Both full-height and low-profile brackets are supplied so the card fits either chassis style.

Builders adding laptop-grade wireless to a desktop

This board suits enthusiasts who already own a compatible Mini PCI-E combo module and want to use it in a tower system. It is not for buyers who expect a working Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection straight from the box because no radio module is included. It also cannot accept M.2 Key E cards or full-size PCI-E cards.

Two dual-band MIMO antennas included

The package provides two external antennas rated at 2.4 GHz 2 dBi and 5 GHz 3 dBi for 2×2 MIMO operation. Their fixed gain and connector type determine the practical range and orientation options for the completed link.

Questions about this item

Which version of the ECWA2-LITE should I pick if I only need the adapter card and antennas?

There is a single ECWA2-LITE version; it ships as the adapter card with two dual-band MIMO antennas and both standard and low-profile brackets.

What Wi-Fi performance can I expect once I install my own module in this adapter?

The adapter passes USB 2.0 signals from your Mini PCI-E Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module to the PCIe x1 slot, so throughput is limited by that USB 2.0 link and the module you choose.

What interface does the card use and what does it cap in practice?

It connects through a PCIe x1 slot but carries USB 2.0 data, capping the wireless module at USB 2.0 speeds.
