SFX 700W Platinum power supply

The Silverstone SX700-PT is an SFX-form-factor unit rated at 700W with 80 PLUS Platinum certification. It uses a single +12V rail capable of 58.4A output. All capacitors are Japanese and the cables are 100% modular with flexible flat arrays.

Sustained-load behaviour

A 92mm FDB fan runs at a minimum of 18 dBA and ramps up only when thermal load demands it. Strict 3% voltage regulation and low ripple and noise are maintained across the operating range. The Platinum efficiency rating reduces waste heat during continuous high-wattage delivery.

SFX form-factor limits

The compact SFX dimensions restrict maximum cable routing space in smaller chassis. Four 6+2-pin PCIe and dual EPS 8-pin connectors are provided, so builders needing more PCIe power must verify connector count. Fully modular cabling helps but cannot overcome the physical envelope of the standard.

Questions about this item

How loud is the 92 mm fan when the SX700-PT runs continuously under load?

The 92 mm FDB fan is rated at a minimum of 18 dBA, so even during all-day operation it stays very quiet.

What connectors must my motherboard and graphics cards already provide for this 700 W SFX unit to work?

You need a 24-pin ATX socket, an 8-pin EPS (two are supplied), and up to four 6+2-pin PCIe sockets for your GPUs.

Will the single +12 V rail delivering 58 A cause issues with older components that expect multiple rails?

The single 58 A rail simplifies power distribution and meets strict 3 % voltage regulation, so legacy parts receive clean, stable power.
