Universal Shark Fin Antenna

This glossy red shark fin antenna replaces a factory roof aerial on most passenger cars. It receives FM signals from 76.0 to 108.0 MHz and AM signals from 530 to 1710 KHz, plus HD Radio and satellite radio where available. The ABS housing measures 2.36 inches high, 2.95 inches wide and 6.69 inches long. It is intended for drivers who want a low-profile look without losing broadcast reception.

Signal Retention Over Time

The antenna connects directly to the existing antenna base by screw, so the electrical path stays fixed once fitted. The 3M double-sided tape bonds the fin to the roof panel, keeping the element oriented for consistent pickup during long drives. No amplifier or powered circuit is present, so performance does not drift with temperature or voltage changes. Owners who need DAB+ or dedicated GPS reception will not be served by this unit.

Simple No-Drill Mounting

Installation uses the original antenna base threads and the supplied 3M tape; no drilling or roof modification is required. Clean the roof surface thoroughly before applying the tape, otherwise adhesion can fail after a few wash cycles. The screw connection must be tightened by hand to avoid stripping the plastic threads. Vehicles with a non-standard base diameter or an integrated shark fin will not accept this antenna.

Questions about this item

Does the shark fin antenna generate any noise or heat when the radio runs all day?

No, the antenna is a passive ABS component with no electronics, so it produces no noise or heat during continuous radio use.

What must my car already have for this antenna to work?

Your vehicle needs an existing roof antenna base with a matching screw thread to accept the antenna's direct screw connection.

Will the 76.0 MHz to 108.0 MHz FM and 530 KHz to 1710 KHz AM ranges work with my older factory head unit?

Yes, those ranges cover standard broadcast bands, so the antenna is compatible with any factory radio that tunes FM and AM.
