What the SJ4K Kit Delivers

The SJCAM SJ4K is a compact action camera that records 4K video at 30 fps and captures 40MP stills. It ships with two 900mAh batteries, a 32GB microSD card and a helmet accessory kit so riders, divers and vloggers can start shooting immediately. Three-axis electronic image stabilisation and a 170° field of view keep footage steady and wide.

Upgrading from Basic Cams

This kit replaces fixed-lens sport cameras that lack zoom or stabilisation. The jump is worth it when you need 5.0X optical zoom for distant subjects, IP68 waterproofing to 98 feet without a separate housing, or loop recording and time-lapse modes for dash-cam duty. Built-in Wi-Fi lets you offload clips to a phone without cables.

Limits of the Wi-Fi Interface

Wireless transfer tops out at the speed of the camera’s Wi-Fi radio, so moving multi-gigabyte 4K files takes longer than a wired card reader. The microSD slot accepts cards up to 128GB; larger cards are not supported. Zoom cannot be used simultaneously with the 170° FOV setting — one must be disabled for the other to work.
