Waterproof 88-Note Keyboard Case

The SKB iSeries 3i-5616-TKBD is a waterproof injection-moulded case designed to protect an 88-note narrow keyboard during transport. Its Think Tank interior uses 18 repositionable hook-and-loop pads in three sizes to create a custom fit for instruments such as the Korg Grandstage 88 or Nord Piano 3. A gasket seal meets MIL-C-4150J standards for water and dust resistance.

For Touring Players Needing Modular Protection

Musicians who change keyboard models between gigs benefit from the fully adjustable Velex-covered foam pads. Builders who need a case for wider 88-note workstations or smaller 61-key controllers should look elsewhere because the interior dimensions are fixed at 52.5 by 15 by 6.25 inches.

Interior Length of 52.5 Inches Decides Fit

The single measurement that determines compatibility is the 52.5-inch interior length. Measure your keyboard from end to end; if it exceeds this figure the lid will not close and the gasket seal cannot engage.

Questions about this item

Does the case require my 88-note narrow keyboard to have specific mounting points for the 18 hook-and-loop pads to secure it?

No, the 18 hook-and-loop pads in three sizes are repositionable Velex-covered foam that you arrange inside the 52.5 by 15 by 6.25 inch interior to cradle any 88-note narrow keyboard without dedicated mounting points.

Will the 52.5 inch interior length fit my older 88-note keyboard if it is slightly wider than the narrow models listed?

The interior is 15 inches wide and 6.25 inches deep, so a keyboard wider than the narrow profile may not fit; the case is designed for models such as the Korg Grandstage 88, Nord Piano 3 and Stage 3 88, and Yamaha CP4.

How can I verify the waterproof seal is intact after I pack the keyboard and close the 5616 case?

Press the trigger release latches until they click shut; the gasket-sealed, MIL-C-4150J rated shell will then be water and dust tight, and the TSA-accessible latches confirm the lid is fully latched.
