The SKF 11138 is a new rotary shaft seal designed for equipment with a 1.125 in shaft diameter. It fits housings bored to 1.752 in and uses a single nitrile rubber lip to retain lubricants and exclude contaminants.

Build integration 0.25 in width

The seal installs into a bore that accepts its 1.752 in outside diameter and 0.25 in overall width. Its acrylic-coated case resists corrosion while the carbon-steel spring maintains lip contact. It frees the assembly from leakage of mineral oils, diesel, gasoline, greases, animal and vegetable oils, and hot water.

Sustained operation 3 720 RPM

Under continuous rotation the seal is rated for 3 720 RPM with a maximum surface speed of 5.57 mps. Pressure capability is limited to 10 psi so it suits low-pressure splash or gravity-fed circuits rather than pressurised systems. The single lip and nitrile material maintain sealing through extended duty cycles within these limits.
