Fits 1-3/8 inch shafts
This SKF 13548 rotary shaft seal suits agricultural machinery running on grease lubrication. The HM14 design handles animal and vegetable oils, diesel, gasoline, greases, hot water, light heating oil and mineral oils. A single nitrile rubber lip with no spring keeps fluids in and contaminants out at low pressure. It is made for inch-dimensioned equipment that turns at moderate speed.
Mechanics sealing low-pressure grease systems
The 10 psi pressure limit and 3,489 RPM ceiling rule out high-pressure hydraulics, high-speed spindles or pump shafts that exceed either figure. Builders needing dual-lip protection, a spring-loaded lip or a metal case coating should select a different profile. This seal also does not fit metric shafts or bores that require ISO dimensions.
1.375 in inside diameter decides fit
The seal only works when the shaft measures exactly 1.375 inches and the housing bore measures 1.874 inches with a 0.25 inch width pocket. Any other shaft size, bore size or groove width will leak or fail to seat. Verify both diameters and the width before ordering.

Questions about this item
What shaft diameter does the 1.375 in inside diameter of this HM14 seal fit?
The seal fits a shaft with a 1.375 in outside diameter so the lip can contact and seal against it.
Can this NBR lip seal handle the same speeds as the old felt seal I am replacing?
This seal is rated for up to 3,489 RPM which is well above typical felt-seal limits.
How do I confirm the seal is seated correctly after pressing it into the 1.874 in bore?
The outer face should sit flush with the housing and the spring-loaded lip must face the fluid side.
