SKF 26237 Rotary Shaft Seal
The SKF 26237 is a CRW1 design rotary shaft seal built for engine and driveline repair. It fits a 2.625 in shaft and a 3.623 in bore with a .375 in overall width. Mechanics and rebuilders use it to retain lubricants and exclude contaminants in rotating assemblies.
2580 RPM speed limit and 10 psi pressure ceiling
The single nitrile rubber lip handles surface speeds up to 9 mps and rotational speeds up to 2580 RPM. It is rated for a maximum pressure of 10 psi, so it suits splash-lubricated gearboxes and low-pressure pump housings. Higher pressures or faster shafts will exceed the design envelope.
Carbon steel spring and acrylic-coated case
A carbon steel garter spring maintains consistent lip contact through thermal cycles. The metal case carries an acrylic coating that eases installation and resists bore corrosion. The seal is compatible with mineral oils, gasoline, diesel, greases, animal and vegetable oils, light heating oil and hot water.

Questions about this item
Will the 2.625 in inside diameter fit the shaft on my existing engine?
The seal has a 2.625 in inside diameter and a 3.623 in outside diameter. Measure your shaft and housing bore to confirm they match these dimensions before installation.
How can I verify the seal is functioning correctly after fitting it?
After installation, run the shaft up to its normal operating speed — not exceeding 2,580 RPM — and check for any fluid leakage past the single nitrile rubber lip.
Does the box include the garter spring or any installation tooling?
The seal is supplied as a complete unit with its carbon steel garter spring already fitted. No separate spring or special tooling is included in the package.
