A 150 mm aperture Newtonian with an f/3.9 focal ratio, 94 % reflectivity coatings, a 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser and an included coma corrector for 8.4× faster imaging
The Sky-Watcher Quattro 150P is a 6-inch f/3.9 Newtonian telescope built for astrophotography and visual astronomy. Its 150mm aperture gathers ample light to reveal faint deep-sky objects with enhanced clarity. The fast focal ratio provides a wide field of view suited to expansive celestial landscapes. It is not for observers who require a compact grab-and-go instrument or a long focal length for high-magnification planetary work.
The optical tube uses borosilicate mirrors with proprietary Radiant Aluminum Quartz coatings delivering 94% reflectivity to minimise light loss during long exposures. An oversized secondary mirror maximises illumination across the image plane for even edge-to-edge brightness. The included coma corrector/reducer accelerates exposure rates by 8.4 times compared with a standard 8-inch f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain. A 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser permits ultra-fine adjustments that hold critical focus throughout extended sessions.
The rolled-steel tube finished in metal-flake Black Diamond coating provides structural rigidity that resists flexure as temperatures shift overnight. Passive cooling of the open tube allows the primary mirror to reach thermal equilibrium without active fans or external power. The oversized secondary and baffled design limit stray light and dew formation on optics during humid nights. No electrical supply is required for the optical tube itself.
Measured against everything we stock in Binoculars, Scopes & Sights, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.
No published specifications for this item yet.
The optical tube is a passive Newtonian with no fans or electronics, so it produces no operational noise and negligible heat beyond ambient temperature changes.
You need a sturdy equatorial mount rated for the tube weight, a 2" focuser-compatible camera or coma corrector, plus standard power and guiding equipment for long exposures.
The corrector is designed for the Quattro's specific back-focus; SCT threads and reducers have different spacing, so direct compatibility is unlikely without dedicated adapters.
