Ignition lens for fire starting

The SF-3087-BG flashlight includes a patented focusing lens that can ignite dark combustible material from 1.1 meters away. After generating enough sparks, a puff of air creates a flame for bushcraft or emergency use. Three interchangeable lenses provide white, yellow and blue light options. The zoomable head switches between spotlight and floodlight patterns.

Battery life and charging

A 5000 mAh cell delivers up to 38 hours of runtime on the lowest mode. The USB-C port recharges the pack in 1.5 hours and a built-in indicator shows remaining power. A safety lock prevents accidental activation during transport; a long press toggles the lock. Remove the insulating film before first use or the light will only operate while plugged in.

1097 model brightness claim

The manufacturer states the 1097 upgraded LED is seven times brighter than a standard 600 lumen flashlight, reaching a claimed 5500 foot throw distance. Six output modes cover close work and long-range search. Waterproof construction suits outdoor, tactical and home-emergency roles. The unit weighs .4 pounds.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ignition lens and what step do people often miss?

Screw the ignition lens onto the flashlight head, select dark-coloured combustible material, extend the handle, press the switch and ignite from 1.1 metres away. The step many miss is removing the insulating film before first use, otherwise the light will not activate.

What maintenance or replacement will the SF-3087-BG need over time?

The 5000 mAh battery is recharged via USB-C in 1.5 hours and runs up to 38 hours on low mode; no user-replaceable cells are mentioned, so long-term care is limited to keeping the lens clean and the charge port free of debris.

What limit appears first during sustained high-output use?

On maximum brightness the unit is rated 7× brighter than a standard 600 lm flashlight and throws to 5500 feet, but the manufacturer notes you must remove the ignition lens after fire-starting for safety, implying heat build-up is the first practical limit.
