Desk for home office setups

The SlickBlue vintage computer desk provides a 48 inch wide work surface finished in white. It suits home office or study environments where a single monitor or laptop is used alongside paperwork. The integrated hutch shelf adds a place for books or small decor items. Four drawers give separated storage for stationery, documents and bulkier supplies.

Assembly and common issues

All hardware and instructions are included so the desk can be put together with basic tools. The MDF panels are heavy and alignment of the long centre drawer runner needs care during the first build. Pre-drilling pilot holes for the shelf brackets prevents the board from splitting. A damp cloth removes surface marks without damaging the finish.

Load behaviour over time

The desktop is rated for 132 lbs and the hutch shelf for 22 lbs so weight should stay within those limits. MDF construction resists sagging under typical monitor and printer loads when the weight is spread evenly. Drawer slides operate smoothly when the stated drawer dimensions are not exceeded. Avoid concentrating heavy items on the hutch to keep the upper shelf stable.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the desk holds my equipment as intended after assembly?

Place your monitor and accessories on the desktop — it is rated for 132 lbs — and put lighter items on the hutch shelf, which supports 22 lbs; both surfaces should remain level and stable.

What components ship in the box and what must I source separately?

The package contains all MDF panels, the four drawers (two small at 14.5" x 13.5" x 4.5", one central at 24.5" x 13.5" x 4.5", one file at 14.5" x 13.5" x 11.5"), hardware and instructions; no tools or extra parts are required.

Which finish option should I choose for a 48" wide vintage desk?

Select the White finish to match the 48" x 22" x 36.5" dimensions shown; Black and Brown are the other colour choices for the same size and drawer configuration.
