4-Port Dual-Monitor KVM Switch

This SMA KVM switch lets four DisplayPort computers share two monitors, one keyboard, one mouse and three USB 3.0 peripherals. It supports DP 1.2 at 18 Gbps with a maximum resolution of 4K at 60 Hz and is compatible with Windows 11, 10, 7, 2000, XP, Vista, Linux, Unix, Ubuntu and Fedora. Audio and microphone signals pass through the dedicated output jack. The unit requires the included 5 V power adapter to operate.

Passive Cooling and Power Draw

The switch runs without a fan, so it adds no audible noise to the workspace. Because it draws all power from the supplied 5 V adapter, no extra power-supply capacity is needed on the host systems. Typical power consumption stays low during normal switching and video pass-through. Heat dissipation is handled by the metal enclosure without active airflow.

Bundled Cables and Remote Control

Four USB 3.0 A-to-B cables are included so each computer can connect immediately for video, keyboard, mouse and peripheral sharing. A wired remote push-button allows switching from a convenient spot on the desk, while front-panel LEDs show the active port. The user manual covers setup steps for extended, mirrored or spliced display modes that depend on the host graphics card.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the four USB 3.0 A-B cables and the power adapter so the switch actually detects all four computers?

Plug each computer's DisplayPort and the square USB-B end of its cable into the matching rear ports, then connect the flat USB-A ends to the front USB 3.0 ports and attach the 5 V power adapter before turning on any PC.

Which components will need replacement after heavy daily switching?

The mechanical push-button and the wired remote switch are the only moving parts; the USB 3.0 ports and DisplayPort connectors are solid-state and rated for the 18 Gbps DP 1.2 link.

What resolution limit appears first when I run both monitors at 4K for long sessions?

Dual-monitor output is capped at 4K@60 Hz per screen, so sustained 60 Hz 4K on both displays is the ceiling before any down-scaling occurs.
