Questions about this item

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering the 1167 Mbps link rate after installing it?

Open the network adapter status in Windows; the reported link speed should show 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, matching the MT7612U chipset capabilities.

What comes in the box and do I need a separate USB 3.0 cable?

The adapter has an integrated USB 3.0 plug, so no separate cable is required; the package includes the adapter and a driver disc for Windows XP, 7, 8 and 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Which version should I choose for a laptop that only has USB 2.0 ports?

This single model works on USB 2.0 as well as USB 3.0; it will fall back to USB 2.0 speeds while still providing dual-band 802.11ac connectivity.
