Portable bi-color fill light

The SmallRig P96 Neo 5820 is a compact LED video light designed for content creators using mirrorless cameras, smartphones or action cameras. It weighs 93 grams and measures 6.7 cm by 6.7 cm by 2.3 cm, making it easy to carry for on-the-go shooting. A silver metal knob allows independent control of brightness and colour temperature. The light mounts via a cold shoe or 1/4"-20 threaded holes for flexible positioning.

1500 mAh battery and output headroom

The integrated 1500 mAh battery runs for up to 75 minutes at maximum output. At 0.3 metres the light delivers 1590 lux at 6500 K, providing strong illumination for close-range subjects such as faces or tabletop scenes. Output drops off beyond that distance, so larger scenes or brighter ambient conditions will require additional lights. Colour temperature adjusts continuously from 2700 K to 6500 K.

CRI 95 plus TLCI 97 colour accuracy

A CRI greater than 95 and TLCI greater than 97 mean colours render accurately on camera, reducing the need for heavy colour correction in post. The built-in USB-C port supports charging while in use, extending runtime for longer streams or shoots. No wireless app control or onboard effects modes are included, so users who need remote adjustment or preset lighting effects will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/4"-20 thread and cold shoe let me mount this P96 Neo on my older tripod and camera hot shoe?

Yes — the light has a 1/4"-20 threaded hole and a cold shoe mount, so it fits standard tripod plates and camera hot shoes without extra adapters.

How can I verify the 5 W bi-color source is hitting the claimed 1590 lux at .3 m and 6500 K after I set it up?

Measure illuminance at .3 m with a lux meter; a reading near 1590 lux at 6500 K confirms the spec.

Does the 5820 ship with a USB-C cable and diffuser, or do I need to buy them separately?

The box includes the P96 Neo light, a USB-C charging cable and a diffusion panel; no separate purchase is required for basic operation.
