SB685 200W Projector Lamp

The SMARTBOARD SB685 is a 200W replacement projector lamp module supplied as a fully assembled bulb and housing for immediate installation. It is intended for schools, offices and venues that need a direct replacement for the original SmartBoard projector lamp. The module uses a P-VIP bulb rated for 3000 hours of operation.

200W P-VIP Lamp Life Limits

The 200W P-VIP bulb delivers a rated service life of 3000 hours under standard operating conditions. Brightness will gradually decline as the lamp approaches this limit and the projector will eventually indicate that replacement is required. Actual runtime varies with usage patterns, ambient temperature and the projector's power-management settings.

Upgrading from Expired or Dim Lamps

This module replaces a lamp that has reached its 3000-hour rating, suffered a premature failure or dimmed to a level that affects presentation clarity. The jump is worthwhile when image quality drops below usable levels or the projector displays a replacement warning. Buyers who need a longer-rated lamp or a different wattage should verify their projector's specifications before ordering.

Questions about this item

Which version of the SB685 lamp should I pick?

Four versions are stocked: the OEM lamp from the original bulb maker, the same OEM lamp sold by SmartBoard, an OEM-compatible lamp from a different OEM bulb manufacturer, and a cost-effective compatible lamp built with genuine OEM parts.

What does the 200 W rating mean for my projector?

It matches the power draw the SB685 projector expects, so brightness and thermal load stay exactly as the manufacturer designed.

Does the P-VIP bulb type limit the lamp life?

The module is rated for 3,000 hours of operation; the P-VIP 200 W bulb is built to meet that figure under normal use.
