Indoor climate monitor

The SMARTRO SC42EUK is a digital hygrometer and thermometer built for indoor spaces such as nurseries, offices, greenhouses, wine storage and basements. It displays temperature and humidity on a 3.5 inch backlit LCD so you can check conditions from across the room. A comfort indicator helps you judge whether the air is too dry or too humid at a glance. No phone connectivity is included.

Measurement limits and update rate

Temperature is measured from minus 4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 degrees. Humidity reads up to 199 percent relative humidity with an accuracy of plus or minus 2 percent. The screen refreshes every 10 seconds so you can spot changes quickly and adjust humidifiers, dehumidifiers or HVAC before discomfort sets in. Rear buttons allow manual settings and switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Swiss sensor accuracy spec

The single specification that decides fit is the Swiss sensor rated at plus or minus 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit for temperature and plus or minus 2 percent RH for humidity. If your application demands tighter tolerance, this unit will not meet it. For general room monitoring where this precision is sufficient, the SC42EUK delivers reliable trend data with 24 hour and all time max/min records. Power comes from two 1.5 volt AAA batteries.

Questions about this item

Which model should I choose if I only see the SC42EUK listed?

The SC42EUK is the single model offered; it ships with one thermometer, one manual and two 1.5 V AAA batteries.

What does the ±0.5 °F accuracy mean when I am checking a nursery or wine cellar?

Readings will stay within half a degree Fahrenheit of the true temperature across the full 4 to 158 °F range, so you can trust the display for sensitive environments.

How does the 10-second refresh rate limit what I can track in real time?

The display updates every 10 seconds, giving you near-instant feedback when you adjust a humidifier, dehumidifier or HVAC system.
