3.5 mm detachable microphone for headsets

The Smays PHONE-TRS-MIC-0507 is a 19 cm flexible condenser microphone that plugs into a 3.5 mm stereo jack. It includes a TRS-to-TRRS adapter so the same cable works with headsets, laptops, phones and conference devices. The omnidirectional capsule picks up speech from any angle without precise aiming.

Capacity and headroom

The -36 dB sensitivity delivers clear voice levels for calls, streaming and in-game chat without extra gain stages. The short 19 cm gooseneck keeps the capsule close to the mouth while leaving desk space free. It cannot replace a large-diaphragm studio mic for music recording or broadcast production.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive operation draws no battery or USB power, so there is no self-heating and no fan noise. The metal gooseneck and 4.0 mm mic housing add only 0.009 kg to the headset cable. A removable foam windscreen reduces plosives and wind rumble in a car or outdoor setting.
