Smithbuilt English Saddle Cover

Smithbuilt English Saddle Cover shields English saddles from dirt, debris, moisture and outdoor elements. Heavy-duty 900D polyester rip-stop fabric wraps the entire saddle for full protection. A soft 240gsm polar fleece lining adds cushioning during transport or storage. Elastic hemmed edges with a toggle closure create a secure, customizable fit.

Capacity and headroom

Fits most CC, GP, Dressage and Jump English saddles with a single cover. Lightweight construction makes it quick to put on and remove between rides. Stitched girth loops allow the girth to stay in place while the cover is on. Breathable waterproof fabric prevents condensation build-up underneath.

Practical limits of the interface

Not designed for Western or Australian saddle profiles. Elastic border cannot compensate for saddles that exceed the standard English tree dimensions. Toggle closure relies on fabric tension rather than rigid fasteners. Fleece lining adds bulk that may not suit tight-fitting saddle racks.

Questions about this item

Will the elastic border and toggle closure keep this cover secure on my older dressage saddle?

The elastic hemmed edge and toggle closure are designed for a customizable fit on most CC, GP, dressage and jump English saddles, helping the cover stay in place.

How can I confirm the 900D polyester rip-stop fabric is repelling water after I put the cover on?

Water should bead and run off the grey outer surface rather than soaking in, while the 240gsm polar fleece lining underneath stays dry to the touch.

Does the package include the girth straps shown in the stitched slot flaps, or must I supply my own girth?

The cover has stitched girth loops and slot flaps for placing your existing girth over the saddle; no girth or extra hardware is included.
