Controls two computers from one monitor, keyboard, mouse and USB peripherals with 4K HDMI video and simple button switching
The SMUGDESK 2-port KVM switch lets you operate two computers from a single HDMI monitor, keyboard and mouse. It is aimed at office workers, designers and home users who need to move between systems without swapping cables. The unit handles video and USB peripheral sharing in one compact box. No driver installation is required for basic operation.
The switch uses a fire-resistant plastic casing and internal signal-amplification circuitry to maintain lossless 4K HDMI transmission. It runs without fans, so operation is silent and power draw is limited to the bus-powered USB connection. The design prevents frame drops, colour distortion or input lag during extended sessions. Heat dissipation relies on the enclosure surface alone.
A single physical button on the panel toggles control between the two connected PCs instantly. The firmware supports Windows, macOS and Linux without extra software, so the switch works immediately after cabling. USB ports on the front accept printers, flash drives, external hard drives and scanners, letting those peripherals follow the active computer. No configuration utility is bundled.

Connect each computer's HDMI output and a USB-A port to the corresponding input group on the switch, then attach the shared monitor, keyboard and mouse to the console ports; the step most often missed is plugging in both USB cables so that keyboard, mouse and peripheral switching work together.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if the unit eventually fails the whole switch would be replaced, and the only wear items are the cables you supply which can be swapped individually if they degrade.
The 4K HDMI video bandwidth ceiling is the first hard limit; attempting higher refresh rates or deeper colour depths will cause signal drop-outs before any other constraint appears.
