What it is

The SMUGDESK 3.5-inch external USB floppy drive reads and writes standard 1.44MB high-density disks. It targets users who must recover archived files or service legacy industrial equipment that still relies on this format.

USB power limit

The drive draws all operating power from the host USB port, so no separate adapter is needed. This restricts use to ports that can supply sufficient current for the mechanical spindle and head actuator.

1.44MB capacity

Only 1.44MB high-density 3.5-inch disks are supported; lower-density or 5.25-inch media cannot be read. Buyers with larger archives or different disk types need a different solution.
