6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable
This 6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable connects a graphics card to a monitor with a male-to-male link. It supports HBR3 bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps and handles resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz. The construction uses tinned copper conductors with triple-layer shielding, a nylon braided jacket and gold-plated connectors. It is aimed at gamers and professionals who need a reliable high-resolution link.
Replaces older DisplayPort cables
The cable upgrades any connection still using DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.3 hardware by enabling 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 2K at 240 Hz. It also adds support for Display Stream Compression, Forward Error Correction and HDR metadata transport. The jump is worth it when the monitor and GPU both support DP 1.4 and the user needs refresh rates above 120 Hz at 4K or wants 8K capability.
Limited by DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth
The 32.4 Gbps ceiling of DP 1.4 means 8K is restricted to 60 Hz without compression and 4K cannot exceed 144 Hz at full colour depth. Higher refresh rates at 8K or 4K beyond 144 Hz require a newer interface not provided by this cable. Cable length beyond 6.6 ft may also reduce signal integrity at the highest data rates.

Questions about this item
What length and connector type does the 6.6 ft cable use for the monitor and graphics card?
The cable is 6.6 ft long with male DisplayPort connectors on both ends for a direct DP-to-DP link.
Does the cable need any drivers or firmware to enable 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz?
No driver or firmware is required; the DP 1.4 cable handles 8K 7680x4320 at 60 Hz and 4K 3840x2160 at 144 Hz natively.
How often should the gold-plated connectors be cleaned to keep 32.4 Gbps signal quality?
Wipe the gold-plated pins with a dry lint-free cloth only if dust builds up; the triple shielding and tinned copper maintain 32.4 Gbps without routine maintenance.
