SMUGDESK 8K Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable 3.3ft

SKU CH-12HX-V496N

Bi-directional Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable supports 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz over 3.3 ft

  • 8K@60Hz resolution for immersive 3D visuals
  • 4K@144Hz and 2K@240Hz refresh rates for smooth gaming
  • 4 Gbps bandwidth with HBR3 and DSC 1.2 support
  • Bi-directional Mini DP to DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity
  • Gold-plated braided cable with aluminium shell durability

Connection & Compatibility

This bi-directional Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable links laptops or desktops with Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 ports to monitors with full-size DisplayPort inputs. It also works in the opposite direction, connecting a DisplayPort source to a Mini DisplayPort display. Length is 3.3 ft.

Resolution Fit

Suits users who need 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz or 120 Hz, or 2K at 240 Hz for high-refresh gaming. Not for buyers who require 8K above 60 Hz or 4K above 240 Hz, which this cable cannot deliver.

Bandwidth Limit

The 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth decides whether your target resolution and refresh rate are supported; if your setup demands more throughput, this cable will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Will this 3.3ft cable run 8K at 60 Hz from a Thunderbolt 2 MacBook to an older DisplayPort 1.2 monitor?

Yes. The cable is backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.1, so the 8K@60Hz link will negotiate down to the monitor's maximum supported mode automatically.

How can I verify the cable is delivering 4K at 144 Hz after connecting it?

Open your GPU control panel or monitor OSD and confirm the active signal shows 3840x2160 at 144 Hz with 10-bit colour and HDR enabled.

Does the box include any adapters or do I need a separate USB-C to Mini DisplayPort dongle for a newer laptop?

The package contains only the bi-directional Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable; any USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 adapter must be purchased separately.
