SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK DC Power Extension Cord 4.0x1.7mm Male to 4.8x1.7mm Female

SKU CH-J030-R31N9

Converts 4.0×1.7 mm DC plugs to 4.8×1.7 mm jacks for CCTV cameras, LED strips and routers with solid moulded connectors and weather-resistant PVC sheathing

  • Converts 4.0×1.7 mm plug to 4.8×1.7 mm jack for mismatched DC ports
  • Low-resistance pure copper conductors reduce heat and voltage loss during continuous use
  • Molded connectors lock tightly to prevent power drops and intermittent disconnection
  • Weather-resistant PVC sheath withstands bending, abrasion and short circuits for semi-outdoor installs
  • Plug-and-play design needs no tools, ideal for CCTV cameras, LED strips, routers and monitors

DC Barrel Adapter Cord

This DC power extension cord converts a 4.0mm outer diameter × 1.7mm inner diameter male plug to a 4.8mm × 1.7mm female jack. It solves interface mismatches for CCTV cameras, LED strips, routers and small monitors. The plug-and-play design requires no tools for quick wiring or equipment maintenance.

Practical Limits of DC Barrel Sizing

The cord only bridges the specific 4.0×1.7mm to 4.8×1.7mm barrel sizes listed; it cannot adapt other DC connector diameters or polarities. Voltage and current capacity depend entirely on the power supply and device specifications, which are not defined by the cable itself. Outdoor use is limited to semi-protected locations due to the PVC jacket rating.

Connector Diameter Compatibility

The single specification that decides fit is the exact match between your power adapter plug and the 4.0×1.7mm male input, and your device jack and the 4.8×1.7mm female output. If either port differs in outer or inner diameter, this cord will not make a secure electrical connection.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this cable for a 4.0×1.7 mm power adapter and a 4.8×1.7 mm device jack?

Yes, the male end fits 4.0×1.7 mm plugs and the female end accepts 4.8×1.7 mm jacks, bridging the two common barrel sizes.

Will the 24‑hour surveillance claim hold up with this cord?

Molded connectors and thick copper conductors minimise voltage drop and keep the link stable during continuous 24‑hour operation.

Does the 4.8×1.7 mm female jack limit the current I can draw?

The cable uses pure copper cores and low‑resistance construction to reduce heat and voltage loss at typical low‑voltage DC loads.
