Product Overview

This SMUGDESK DisplayPort 1.4 cable spans 10 feet and supports up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth using HBR3. It handles 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, and 1080p at 240 Hz with HDR. Tinned copper conductors and FEC ensure signal integrity. It is built for gamers and professionals linking a graphics card to a high-refresh monitor.

Who It Suits

Users wanting 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, or 1080p at 240 Hz over a single DisplayPort link will benefit from the 32.4 Gbps headroom. The cable also works with MST hubs and DSC compression. Buyers who need higher bandwidth for 8K beyond 60 Hz or dual 4K streams over one cable cannot use this link.

Deciding Specification

The 32.4 Gbps HBR3 rating is the single figure that determines whether your target resolution and refresh rate are achievable. If your display requires more bandwidth than this cable provides, you must choose a different interconnect.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the DisplayPort 1.4 male-to-male cable to my graphics card and monitor without damaging the latch?

Align the connector with the port, push straight in until the latch clicks, and release the latch by pressing the button before unplugging to avoid bending the retention tab.

Will the tinned copper conductors or gold-plated contacts degrade over time and require replacement?

The 30AWG tinned copper conductors and gold-plated contacts resist oxidation and do not need scheduled replacement under normal indoor use.

At what resolution and refresh rate does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth limit appear first during extended gaming sessions?

The 32.4 Gbps ceiling is reached at 8K 7680x4320 at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz with HDR, so sustained play at those modes hits the bandwidth limit first.
