6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K

This 6.6 ft male-to-male DisplayPort cable carries 32.4 Gbps bandwidth under the DisplayPort 1.4 specification. It supports 7680x4320 resolution at 60 Hz with 10-bit colour, RGB 4:4:4 and HDR. It also drives 3840x2160 at 144 Hz for high-refresh gaming monitors.

Upgrade from DisplayPort 1.2 when you need 8K

The cable provides a 50 percent bandwidth increase over DisplayPort 1.2 links, enabling 8K 60 Hz and 4K 144 Hz modes that 1.2 cannot sustain. The jump is worthwhile when your source and display both support DisplayPort 1.4 and you require resolutions or refresh rates beyond 4K 60 Hz.

Sustained 32.4 Gbps throughput with DSC and MST

The link maintains full 32.4 Gbps throughput for extended sessions, using Display Stream Compression to keep 8K 60 Hz and 4K 144 Hz stable without visual artefacts. Multi-Stream Transport and HDCP 2.2 remain active continuously, so daisy-chained monitors or protected content play without intermittent drops.

Questions about this item

Will the 6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable reach my monitor from a floor-standing PC?

The cable is 6.6 ft long with male-to-male DisplayPort 1.4 connectors on each end, so measure the straight-line distance plus slack for routing behind furniture.

Do I need to lock the connectors in or just push them in?

Each plug has a spring-loaded latch; push until you hear a click, then tug gently to confirm it is seated — many users skip the tug and get intermittent signal.

How often should I replace a braided DisplayPort cable that runs 8K at 60 Hz?

The nylon-braided jacket resists kinks and the gold-plated pins resist oxidation; replace only if you see physical damage, connector wobble, or unexplained flicker at 32.4 Gbps.
