SMUGDESK Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable 10ft 16K@60Hz 8K@120Hz bi-directional

SKU CH-M3GQ-97GQ8

A bi-directional Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable supporting 16K at 60 Hz and 8K at 120 Hz over ten feet

  • 16K@60Hz resolution for immersive visuals backed by 80Gbps bandwidth
  • Bi-directional Mini DP to DP connects laptops and monitors either way
  • 10ft nylon-braided cable with gold-plated plugs built for heavy-duty use
  • Triple-layer shielding keeps 16K and 8K@120Hz signals distortion-free
  • DP 2.1 supports 4K@240Hz, HDR, G-Sync and FreeSync gaming

Connectivity & Resolution

This ten-foot cable links a Mini DisplayPort source to a full-size DisplayPort display. It supports 16K at 60 Hz, 8K at 120 Hz and 4K at 240 Hz. The bi-directional design also works from a DisplayPort computer to a Mini DisplayPort monitor. Thunderbolt 2 ports are compatible.

Sustained Signal Quality

Triple-layer shielding protects the 80 Gbps bandwidth during long sessions. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion that can degrade the link over time. The nylon-braided jacket reduces physical stress on the conductors. Distortion-free transmission is maintained at the rated resolutions.

Installation Notes

Simply plug each end into the matching port; no driver or software is required. The cable carries both video and audio signals in either direction. It will not function with USB-C ports that lack DisplayPort Alternate Mode support. Buyers needing a longer run or an active optical link cannot use this passive copper cable.

Questions about this item

Does the 10ft cable draw extra power or run warm when driving 16K@60Hz all day?

The cable is passive and needs no external power; it carries up to 80Gbps through triple-layer shielding without active components that generate heat.

My laptop only has Thunderbolt 2 — will the Mini DP plug work without an adapter?

Yes, the Mini DP connector is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 ports on MacBook models, so the cable plugs in directly.

If I keep my older 4K monitor, can this cable still run it at 240Hz?

The cable supports 4K@240Hz, so an existing 4K display will run at that refresh rate when connected through either the Mini DP or full-size DP end.
