2x2 HDMI Matrix Switch 4K 60Hz

The SMUGDESK OZJ3 is a 2x2 HDMI matrix switch that routes two source devices to two displays independently or in mirror mode. It handles 4K video at 60Hz with 18Gbps bandwidth and supports HDR, 3D, 1080P and YUV 4:2:0 color sampling. An IR remote provides instant switching without cable changes.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This switch suits users who need to share two HDMI sources such as consoles or media players across two screens with flexible routing. It is not for installations requiring more than two inputs or two outputs, or for setups that demand HDCP 2.2 or higher bandwidth than 18Gbps.

Deciding specification: HDCP 1.4 compliance

The single specification that decides fit is HDCP 1.4 compliance, which allows playback of standard protected 4K content but blocks newer 4K streams that require HDCP 2.2. Verify your source and display requirements before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this 2×2 matrix or a simpler switch for two sources and two displays?

This OZJ3 is a true 2×2 matrix, so each output can independently show either input — mirror both screens, split them, or swap sources on the fly with the IR remote.

What does the 18 Gbps rating deliver on my 4K 60 Hz screen?

The 18 Gbps bandwidth carries full 4K at 60 Hz with HDR, 3D, 1080P and YUV 4:2:0 colour, so movies and games play without lag or frame drops.

How does HDCP 1.4 affect playback of protected content?

HDCP 1.4 compliance lets the switch pass encrypted streams from consoles, Blu-ray players or set-top boxes to both displays without handshake failures.
