Converts composite RCA AV to 1080P HDMI for retro consoles, includes Mini USB power cable, plug-and-play operation
The SMUGDESK converter turns composite CVBS RCA signals from classic consoles such as Wii, NES and SNES into a 1080P HDMI output for modern displays. It is built for gamers who want to play original hardware on current TVs, monitors or projectors without emulation. The box only works one way, from analog AV to digital HDMI.
The unit accepts standard red, white and yellow RCA connectors and delivers a fixed 1080P HDMI signal; it cannot downscale, upscale beyond that resolution or convert HDMI back to AV. Audio and video travel together over HDMI, so a separate audio path is not required. Power must come from an external USB source such as a TV port, power bank or wall adapter because the converter has no internal supply.
Plug the console RCA cables into the converter, connect the HDMI lead to the display, then attach the included Mini USB cable to any powered USB port. No drivers or software are needed, making setup almost instant. Common issues arise when the source device does not output true composite CVBS or when the USB port cannot supply steady power, causing signal dropouts.

This single converter handles composite CVBS RCA input from Wii, NES, SNES and similar classic consoles, outputting 1080P HDMI to modern displays.
The converter upscales the analog composite signal to a 1080P HDMI digital signal, letting vintage game footage display on current HDMI televisions, monitors or projectors.
The included Mini USB cable draws power from a TV USB port, power bank or wall adapter, so the unit runs without a separate power brick and stays compact.
