SMUGDESK SFF-8087 Mini SAS to 4 SATA 6Gbps Cable 1m
Connects one SFF-8087 Mini SAS port to four SATA drives at up to 6 Gbps per channel
- Connect four SATA drives from one Mini SAS port using SFF-8087 splitter
- Transfer data at up to 6Gbps with SATA III backward compatibility to 1.5Gbps
- 1m length fits standard server and workstation chassis for tidy internal routing
- Multi-layer shielding reduces crosstalk and EMI for stable high-speed transmission
- Compatible with RAID controllers, HBA cards, NVR and DIY storage arrays
SFF-8087 to 4 SATA cable
This SFF-8087 Mini SAS cable splits one connector into four independent SATA signal ports, allowing a single Mini SAS port on a RAID controller or HBA to serve four SATA hard drives, solid-state drives or optical drives at the same time. It is aimed at server builders, storage workstation owners and surveillance NVR operators who need to expand internal drive counts without adding extra controller cards. The 1-meter length suits medium and large chassis layouts.
SATA III 6Gbps compliance
The cable meets the SATA III 6Gbps specification and is backward compatible with SATA 3Gbps and 1.5Gbps devices, so mixed-generation drives can share the same link. Multi-layer shielding reduces crosstalk and electromagnetic interference from nearby power lines, while precision-moulded connectors resist vibration-induced disconnects during continuous operation. No driver installation is required.
Four-drive headroom
Four SATA drives running at up to 6Gbps each are supported, covering mass file storage, continuous video recording, large backups and high-volume disk array workloads. The single Mini SAS uplink becomes the bottleneck when aggregate throughput exceeds what one 6Gbps lane can deliver, so arrays demanding sustained maximum bandwidth across all four drives simultaneously will need additional controller ports.

Questions about this item
What does the 6Gbps rating mean when the cable is installed in a server?
Each of the four SATA channels can transfer data at up to 6Gbps, matching the SATA III specification, so drives connected through the cable run at their full rated speed.
How does the SFF-8087 interface limit real-world throughput?
The SFF-8087 Mini SAS connector carries four independent SATA lanes; the practical ceiling is the 6Gbps per lane set by the SATA III devices attached to the four SATA plugs.
What clearance is needed to route the 1-meter cable inside a chassis?
The 1-meter length gives enough slack to reach drive bays across a typical server or workstation case while allowing tidy routing behind motherboard trays and around power supplies.
