SlimSAS SFF-8654 8i Direct-Attach Cable
This 0.5-meter (1.64 feet) SlimSAS cable connects SFF-8654 8i ports in a straight-through configuration. It is built for internal high-speed interconnection inside enterprise-grade servers, storage enclosures and HPC clusters. The compact 74-pin Ultraport connector with locking latches fits dense 1U and 2U rack chassis where space is limited.
24Gbps per Lane Over PCIe 4.0 and SAS 4.0
The cable complies with PCIe 4.0 and SAS 4.0 standards, delivering up to 24Gbps per lane for NVMe SSD and enterprise storage traffic. A precise 85-ohm controlled impedance design minimises crosstalk, signal reflection and packet loss during high-frequency transmission.
Double-Layer Shielding for Dense Rack Environments
Multi-layer shielding and gold-plated contacts resist electromagnetic interference for continuous 24/7 operation under vibration. The short 0.5m length reduces cable clutter inside the chassis, leaving room for airflow and additional components in tightly packed builds.

Questions about this item
What does the 24 Gbps per lane rating mean for my NVMe SSD backplane?
Each of the eight lanes can move up to 24 Gbps, so the cable can feed a full PCIe 4.0 x8 NVMe backplane without throttling the drives.
Which standard does the SFF-8654 8i connector follow and what does it cap?
It follows PCIe 4.0 and SAS 4.0, limiting each lane to 24 Gbps and the aggregate to eight lanes.
Will the 74-pin SlimSAS plug fit my 1U server chassis?
The compact 74-pin SFF-8654 8i connector with locking latches is designed for dense 1U and 2U rack servers.
