USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable 33ft

This USB 3.0 active extension cable provides a Type A male to Type A female connection for extending USB peripherals up to 33 feet from a computer. It is designed for users who need to place devices such as webcams, printers, or hubs at a distance beyond the reach of standard cables. The active design incorporates signal boosting to maintain data integrity over the longer run.

Dual chipset signal booster

The cable integrates two extension chipsets that amplify the USB signal to prevent attenuation across the 33-foot length. This active circuitry ensures uninterrupted data transmission at USB 3.0 speeds while maintaining backward compatibility with USB 2.0 devices. Without this amplification, passive cables at this length would typically suffer signal loss and connection instability.

Broad peripheral compatibility

The extender works with a wide range of USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices including webcams, HD cameras, flash drives, Wi-Fi antennas, scanners, external hard drives, and USB hubs. It is also noted as compatible with VR headsets such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, as well as game consoles like PlayStation. This versatility allows a single cable type to serve multiple long-distance connection needs.

Questions about this item

What does the 33 ft length mean for real-world USB 3.0 performance?

The 33 ft active cable uses two built-in signal booster chipsets to prevent attenuation, allowing full USB 3.0 data rates at distances far beyond the standard 3 m passive limit.

Which USB standard does the Type-A connector support and what throughput does it cap at?

The connector is USB 3.0 and backward compatible with USB 2.0, so the practical ceiling is the 5 Gbps SuperSpeed rate of USB 3.0.

What physical clearance or mounting does the 33 ft active cable require?

It needs only a standard USB Type-A port at each end; the inline booster chips are moulded into the cable, so no extra mounting hardware or power adapter is required.
