What This Cable Does
This USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries video from a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port, or any USB-C port with DP Alt Mode, to a DisplayPort monitor. It is unidirectional, so the USB-C end must be the source. The 6.6 ft length suits desktop setups where the host and display sit close together.
Sustained Signal Quality
The link runs at up to 32.4 Gbps using HBR3 and supports DSC 1.2 for visually lossless compression at high resolutions. It handles 8K at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR, 4K at up to 240 Hz, and 2K at 240 Hz without flicker or tearing. VRR, ALLM and QFT are supported for smooth gaming sessions.
Installing the Cable
Plug the USB-C end into the host and the DisplayPort end into the monitor; no driver is required. The built-in CYPD smart chip negotiates the link automatically. The cable only works when the source device supports DP Alt Mode, and both ends must support the target resolution and refresh rate. It will not carry video from a DisplayPort source to a USB-C display.

Questions about this item
Does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth generate noticeable heat during all-day 8K 60 Hz use?
The cable is passive with a built-in CYPD smart chip and 28 AWG tinned copper conductors; it runs cool during continuous 8K 60 Hz operation.
Must my laptop's USB-C port support DisplayPort Alt Mode for this cable to work?
Yes, the source device must provide DP Alt Mode over USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4; a plain USB-C data port will not output video.
Will the cable down-negotiate to 4K 144 Hz on an older DisplayPort 1.2 monitor?
It is backwards compatible with DP 1.2 and 1.3, so it will link at the highest rate both ends support, such as 4K 144 Hz on a DP 1.2 display.
