What this cable does

This two-metre USB-C cable carries 20 Gbps data, 100 W power and 4K video at 60 Hz. The right-angle plug keeps the connector close to the device, making it practical for charging while gaming or watching video in bed. The pack contains two cables.

Limits of the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 link

The 20 Gbps rate is the ceiling of the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 standard, so an external SSD or dock cannot exceed that throughput. Video output is capped at 4K 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR colour. Charging reaches 100 W only when both the charger and the device support USB PD 3.0 at 20 V / 5 A.

What it replaces and when to upgrade

The cable replaces older USB-C cords limited to 10 Gbps or 60 W, removing the bottleneck for high-speed SSDs and fast laptop charging. The upgrade is worth it when you need the full 20 Gbps bandwidth or 100 W delivery; it adds no benefit for devices that only negotiate lower speeds or power levels.

Questions about this item

How do I pick between the two cables in the pack?

Both cables are identical — each is 2 metres long with a right-angle connector, 20 Gbps data, 100 W charging and 4K 60 Hz video. Keep one at your desk and the other in a bag, or use both for separate devices.

Will I actually see 20 Gbps when I plug this into my laptop?

The cable supports up to 20 Gbps, but real-world speed depends on the host port, the peripheral and the file type. You need a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port on both ends to reach the headline figure.

What does the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 label mean for everyday use?

It certifies the cable for 20 Gbps data, 100 W power delivery and 4K 60 Hz video over a single USB-C connection, provided your charger, dock and device all support the same standard.
