Purpose-built cable
This SMUGDESK USB C to USB C cable delivers 40Gbps data transfer and up to 240W power delivery in a 1.5ft length. It suits professionals who need Thunderbolt 4-level bandwidth and fast charging for laptops, tablets and phones from a single short connection. The integrated E-Marker chip negotiates power safely across compatible devices.
Upgrade path
It replaces older USB 3.2 or USB 3.1 cables that cap at 10Gbps or 20Gbps and 100W charging. The jump is worth it when your host and peripheral both support USB4 Gen 3 or Thunderbolt 4 and you need 8K@60Hz video or 240W charging. Legacy devices will still work but run at their own lower limits.
Interface limits
The USB4 Gen 3 interface tops out at 40Gbps and 240W, so longer cables or hubs without active electronics cannot sustain these rates. Dual 4K@60Hz output requires two separate cables and host support for DisplayPort Alt Mode. Devices limited to USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt 3 will not reach the cable’s maximum speed or power.

Questions about this item
How long is this cable and will it reach my monitor?
The cable is 1.5 ft long, so it works best when the host and display are close together on the same desk.
Which end plugs in first when I connect a MacBook Pro and an 8K display?
Both ends are identical USB-C; plug either end into the MacBook and the other into the monitor, but the display must support DP Alt Mode for 8K@60Hz video.
When should I replace this cable if I use it daily for 240W charging?
Replace it if the braided sheath frays, the connectors become loose, or the E-Marker chip stops negotiating 48V/5A after repeated 35-minute charge cycles.
