SMUGDESK USB4 Thunderbolt Cable 40Gbps 240W

This SMUGDESK USB4 Thunderbolt cable delivers 40Gbps data transfer and up to 240W power delivery over a four-foot length. It suits professionals who need high-bandwidth connectivity for external storage, docks or 8K displays. The aluminium alloy and nylon braided construction provides durability for daily transport.

Suits high-performance USB-C workflows not basic

Creators moving large video files, engineers linking Thunderbolt docks and users charging 48V laptops at full speed will benefit from the 40Gbps bandwidth and 5A current rating. Buyers who only need standard USB 2.0 speeds or 5V charging will not use the cable’s full capability.

40Gbps data rate with 240W PD 3.1 power

The single specification that decides fit is the 40Gbps USB4 data rate combined with 240W (48V/5A) Power Delivery 3.1 support. Both the host port and the connected device must support these speeds and voltages to achieve the rated performance.

The cable supports up to 40Gbps, matching the USB 4.0 standard, provided both host and device also support that speed.

What physical connectors and length does this cable use?

It has male-to-male USB-C connectors on a 4ft gray nylon-braided cord with aluminum alloy housing.

How is the cable installed and what step do people often miss?

Plug each end into a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video; without that mode the 8K or dual 4K output will not work.
