Portable AM/FM/NOAA weather radio

The Snokauwa WR-2802 is a pocket-sized transistor radio covering AM, FM and NOAA weather bands. It runs on two AA batteries and fits easily into a bag or pocket for everyday carry, travel or emergency preparedness.

Listeners who need AM.

Ideal for hikers, commuters and households wanting a simple backup during storms. Not suited for users who require single-sideband, shortwave, digital DAB+ reception, Bluetooth streaming or rechargeable built-in batteries.

13-inch telescopic whip pulls distant stations

AM tunes 520-1710 kHz, FM covers 87-108 MHz and NOAA weather scans seven channels at 162.40-162.55 MHz. The built-in speaker handles voice and music clearly, while the headphone jack allows private listening. Two AA cells provide extended runtime, though the set lacks a charge port or solar panel for off-grid top-ups.

Questions about this item

What batteries do I need before the WR-2802 will turn on?

It runs on two AA batteries, which are not included in the box.

Will the telescopic whip still pull in stations if I keep an older analogue radio nearby?

The 13-inch telescopic whip and rock-solid tuner lock onto distant AM, FM and WB signals independently of any other radio you own.

How do I confirm the NOAA weather scan is actually cycling through the seven channels?

Press the weather-band scan function; the radio will automatically step through the 162.40–162.55 MHz range and stop on any active alert.
