Kit contains three spools of lead-free, no-clean solder wick braid in .08, .1 and .12 inch widths with 10 feet per spool for desoldering circuit boards
This kit contains three spools of desoldering braid measuring .08, .1 and .12 inches wide. Each spool provides 10 feet of copper braid for removing solder from circuit boards. The lead-free compliant wick leaves minimal residue after use. It suits hobbyists, technicians and students working on through-hole or surface-mount joints.
Place the wick over the joint and apply a heated soldering iron tip until the solder flows into the braid. Advance fresh braid as each section saturates. A common issue is insufficient heat transfer if the iron tip is too small or oxidised. Coating the braid with extra flux before use can improve flow and reduce the risk of lifting pads.
Verify that your soldering iron reaches a temperature suitable for lead-free alloys. Ensure you have a clean, tinned tip and a flux pen or paste if the joints are heavily oxidised. Confirm the three widths cover the pad sizes you typically encounter. The included storage box keeps unused braid protected from contamination.

The copper braid should darken as it draws molten solder away from the joint, leaving the pad clean with only a thin, no-clean flux film that requires no further cleaning.
The package includes three 10 ft spools in widths of .08, .1 and .12 in plus a sturdy storage box; only a soldering iron and optional extra flux are needed to begin work.
Use the .08 in braid for fine-pitch surface-mount pads, the .1 in for general-purpose joints, and the .12 in for larger through-hole terminals or wire-pack pins.
