A 15.36 TB U.2 15 mm enterprise SSD with PCIe 4.0 x4, 144L QLC 3D NAND, 7000 MB/s sequential read and 2 million hour MTBF
The Solidigm D5-P5316 is a 2.5-inch U.2 15mm drive delivering 15.36TB of capacity over a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. It uses 144L QLC 3D NAND and is rated for up to 7000 MBps sequential read and 3200 MBps sequential write. The drive includes Opal security and a 2,000,000-hour MTBF rating.
This SSD fits workloads that prioritise capacity and read throughput, such as content repositories, log aggregation and AI data lakes. Its QLC endurance of 10.78PBW random and 51.85PBW sequential makes it less suitable for write-intensive databases or high-frequency transaction logs. Buyers needing higher write endurance or lower latency for mixed workloads should evaluate alternative media.
The drive sustains 51.85PBW of 64K sequential writes and 10.78PBW of 64K random writes over its lifetime. Random read performance reaches 800000 IOPS at 4K blocks, while random write throughput is 399 MB/s at 64K blocks. Active power draw is 25W and idle power is 5W, operating between 0°C and 70°C.

Yes, the drive is a 2.5" U.2 15 mm form factor and uses a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface, so the chassis must provide a compatible bay and electrical connection.
It will function at PCIe 3.0 speeds because the interface is backward compatible, but the 7000 MBps sequential read and 3200 MBps sequential write figures require a PCIe 4.0 host.
Check SMART attributes for media errors and confirm the drive reports 15.36 TB capacity, Opal security support, and temperatures within the 0 °C to 70 °C operating range under load.
