A 30.72 TB enterprise SSD with a U.2 15 mm form factor, PCIe 4.0 interface and 144L QLC 3D NAND for high-capacity read-intensive workloads
The Solidigm D5-P5316 delivers 30.72TB in a U.2 15mm form factor using 144L QLC 3D NAND. It targets data-centre deployments that prioritise dense storage for analytics, content delivery or archival workloads. Sequential reads reach 7000 MBps while writes peak at 3600 MBps. Random read performance hits 800000 IOPS with 64K random write throughput of 510 MB/s.
The drive connects via PCI-Express 4.0 x4, so maximum throughput depends on a compatible backplane or riser that supports the same generation. Endurance is rated at 22.93PBW for 64K random writes and 104.55PBW for 64K sequential writes, making it suited to read-intensive duty cycles rather than sustained heavy write traffic. Active power draw reaches 25W with a 5W idle state.
Confirm the server chassis or storage array accepts 15mm U.2 drives and provides sufficient airflow for a 25W active component operating up to 70°C. The 2,000,000-hour MTBF and 1000G shock rating assume proper mounting. No OPAL encryption is supported, so encryption must be handled at the controller or software layer if required.

Other versions of this model
The 30.72TB U.2 15mm form factor fits a 2.5-inch bay while delivering 30.72TB of raw capacity, letting you consolidate many smaller drives into one slot.
The 7000 MBps sequential read rating lets the drive stream large datasets — backups, media ingest, analytics scans — at near bus speed, cutting job time versus slower SSDs.
PCIe 4.0 x4 caps theoretical bandwidth at roughly 8 GBps, so the 7000 MBps read and 3600 MBps write peaks leave headroom for overhead without saturating the link.
