1/18 Scale 1968 Ford GT40 MK1 Diecast

This officially licensed Solido model reproduces the 1968 Ford GT40 MK1 in yellow with black competition stripes at 1/18 scale. It is made of diecast metal with plastic parts and arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging. The model suits adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts who value authentic detailing.

Opening Doors and Steerable Wheels

The model features opening doors that reveal a detailed interior, while the front wheels steer and sit on real rubber tyres. These moving parts let you pose the car or inspect the cabin without removing the body. Buyers who need a sealed display piece with no moving components should consider a resin alternative.

Shelf-Stable Display Piece

As a static diecast collectible, the model generates no heat, draws no power and produces no noise during normal use. It requires only a stable surface away from direct sunlight to preserve the paint finish. No batteries, cables or maintenance are involved.

Questions about this item

How big is the 1/18 scale model once it sits on a shelf?

The diecast measures roughly 9.25 inches long, 4 inches wide and 2 inches high, so it needs a display space about that size.

What does the officially licensed status mean for the details?

Ford has authorised the GT40 MK1 livery, so the yellow paint, black stripes and badging match the 1968 competition car exactly.

How much clearance do the steerable wheels and opening doors need?

The front wheels turn and both doors swing out, so allow a few extra centimetres on each side when positioning the model.
