Compact Industrial DPM Reader

The Solio Matrix 220 is a fixed-mount barcode scanner built for warehouse and manufacturing lines. Its 1.2 MPixel sensor and multicore image processing platform decode 1D and 2D codes, including direct part marks, on fast-moving production lines. The compact imager fits into tight machine frames where larger readers cannot be installed.

Fixed Focus At 12 MM Working Distance

The scanner reads at a single 12 mm distance, so parts must be presented precisely at that range. Depth of field is limited by the fixed optics, making the unit unsuitable for conveyor gaps or variable-height items. Ambient light changes can affect contrast on low-contrast DPM surfaces without external lighting control.

Simple Mounting With Precise Alignment

Two M3 mounting holes allow quick mechanical fixing, but the narrow 12 mm focal point demands accurate XY positioning during setup. Misalignment by even a few millimetres causes missed reads on small codes. Cable routing must avoid sharp bends near the connector to prevent signal loss on long runs.

Questions about this item

Which Matrix 220 version handles the 12 mm DPM codes on our line?

The 385-010 model is built for 12 mm direct part marks and reads both 1D and 2D symbols with its 1.2 MP sensor.

What does the 1.2 MP sensor actually deliver when the scanner is mounted on the conveyor?

It captures high-resolution images that let the multicore processor decode tiny or low-contrast DPM codes at production speeds.

How does the DPM-R interface limit what the reader can do in practice?

The DPM-R lighting and optics are tuned for marked parts, so the unit excels on etched or dot-peened codes but is not intended for standard label scanning.
