33MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

The Sony Alpha 7 IV uses a 33MP full-frame Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with a BIONZ XR image processing engine. It captures UHD 4K video at 60p with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour and offers 7K oversampling for 4K 30p footage. A 3.68 m-dot EVF with 120 fps refresh rate and a 3.0" 1.036 m-dot tilting touchscreen aid composition. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support UVC/UAC live streaming up to 4K 15p.

Hybrid Shooters Needing 10-Bit 4K

This camera suits photographers and video creators who want high-resolution stills alongside advanced 10-bit 4K recording, S-Cinetone, S-Log and HLG profiles. Real-time Eye-AF for humans, animals and birds works for both photos and movies. Buyers who need higher continuous burst rates or internal raw video recording should look at other models. The single UHS-II slot may limit redundancy for some workflows.

Sustained 4K Recording With Active Cooling

The camera records 4K 60p 10-bit 4:2:2 using full pixel readout without pixel binning. 5.5-stop 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE stabilisation helps keep handheld footage steady during long takes. Dual card slots allow relay or backup recording for extended sessions. The ISO range of 100-51200 maintains usable sensitivity in low light without excessive noise buildup over time.

Questions about this item

Which E-mount lenses can I use with the 33MP full-frame sensor?

Any Sony E-mount lens works; APS-C models will crop the 33MP image to a smaller area.

Can I keep my existing UHS-I SD cards for the dual card slots?

Yes, the camera accepts UHS-I and UHS-II SD cards in both slots; write speeds will be limited by the card.

How do I confirm the 5-axis SteadyShot is active while recording 4K 60p?

The stabilisation icon appears on the 3.0" 1.036 m-dot tilting touchscreen and in the 3.68 m-dot EVF during recording.
