26.0MP APS-C Mirrorless Camera

The Sony Alpha a6700 is a compact mirrorless camera built around a 26.0MP APS-C Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor. It includes a dedicated AI processor for real-time subject recognition and tracking. The kit comes with the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS zoom lens for immediate use.

Suited for hybrid creators needing portability

This camera suits photographers and videographers who want advanced autofocus, 4K video flexibility and in-body stabilisation in a lightweight body. It is less suited for buyers who require a full-frame sensor for shallow depth of field or those who need dual card slots for instant backup during critical shoots.

4K 60p 10-bit video with 6K oversampling

The standout video specification is 4K 60p recording using 6K oversampling with 4:2:2 10-bit colour in Long GOP or All Intra formats. High frame rate 4K 120p capture is also available. This level of internal video quality decides whether the a6700 meets a filmmaker's codec and colour-grading requirements.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the a6700 body only or the kit with the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens?

The kit adds a compact power zoom covering 16-50mm with built-in Optical SteadyShot, giving you a versatile wide-to-short-tele range straight from the box.

What does the 26.0MP Exmor R sensor deliver in everyday shooting?

The back-illuminated APS-C sensor pairs with the BIONZ XR engine for high-resolution stills, wide dynamic range and clean low-light performance up to the camera's native sensitivity ceiling.

How far can the 4K/60p 10-bit 4:2:2 mode push my workflow?

6K oversampling produces detailed 4K at 60 frames per second with 10-bit colour depth, while Long GOP and All Intra options let you balance file size against editing latitude.
