Compact full-frame mirrorless body

The Sony Alpha a7C pairs a 24.2MP full-frame Exmor R BSI sensor with a BIONZ X processor in a body designed for everyday carry. It captures UHD 4K30p video with HLG and S-Log3 gammas and offers extended sensitivity from ISO 50 to 204800. A 693-point hybrid AF system and 10 fps continuous shooting support moving subjects.

Upgrade from smaller-sensor cameras

The jump is worth it when you need full-frame dynamic range of up to 15 stops and shallow depth of field in a form factor that fits a daily bag. The included 64GB UHS-I card, slave flash, 72 tripod, tabletop grip, bag, HDMI micro cable, grip strap, blower, cleaning pen, card reader, cloth and starter kit complete a ready-to-shoot package. Buyers who need interchangeable lenses included should look elsewhere.

Sustained shooting and video performance

The BIONZ X processor maintains 10 fps bursts and 4K30p recording while managing heat in the compact chassis. The vari-angle 3.0 inch 921.6k-dot touchscreen and 2.36m-dot OLED viewfinder stay active during long sessions. The 425 contrast-detection areas supplement the phase-detection array for consistent tracking without relying on external cooling.
