Close-focusing and aperture constraints define

Minimum focus distance is 0.85 m in autofocus and 0.8 m in manual focus, limiting how tightly you can frame a subject at 85 mm. The fixed F1.4 maximum aperture cannot be opened further for brighter exposure or shallower depth of field. Photographers needing closer magnification or wider apertures must choose a different lens.
