Compact Cinema Camera

The Sony FX3A is a full-frame cinema camera built for solo shooters and travel productions. Its cage-free body allows accessories to mount directly without a separate rig. The detachable dual XLR/TRS handle provides professional audio inputs in a streamlined package. This design targets creators who need cinema imaging in a minimal footprint.

Buyers Seeking Internal ND or Larger Battery

The FX3A suits operators who prioritise portability and fast setup over built-in neutral density filtration or extended internal power. It fits documentary, gimbal and B-camera roles where a stripped-down profile matters. Videographers who require integrated ND wheels or a larger battery compartment should evaluate other cinema bodies.

Sustained 4K Capture With Expanded ISO

The 12.1MP Exmor R sensor and BIONZ XR processor deliver UHD 4K up to 120p internally with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling. 16-bit raw output is available externally for grading flexibility. The expanded ISO range of 80 to 409,600 supports low-light continuity across long takes. Dynamic range exceeds 15 stops for highlight retention under sustained mixed lighting.
