11-Channel BRAVIA Theater Bar

The Sony HT-A8000 is an 11-channel soundbar built for living-room cinema and gaming. It delivers Dolby Atmos height effects and 360 Spatial Sound Mapping from a single black enclosure. Buyers who want a compact, all-in-one upgrade for a compatible BRAVIA TV will find it matches the aesthetic and control ecosystem.

11 channels with height and width

Eleven drivers create a wide front stage plus overhead cues for Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. The digital S-Master HX amplifier handles movies, music and game modes with Auto HDR Tone Mapping. Very large rooms or listeners who demand discrete rear surround speakers may find the single-bar format reaches its spatial limits.

HDMI eARC, 4K/60p pass-through and BRAVIA Sync

One HDMI input and one eARC output carry 4K HDR video at 60 Hz while returning lossless audio to the bar. USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth add streaming flexibility. The bar requires a TV with eARC for full Atmos bitstream; optical-only sets will lose the height channels. A bundled screen cleaner and optional multi-year protection plan complete the package.

Questions about this item

Will the 11-channel soundbar work with my older TV that only has optical audio out?

The soundbar includes an HDMI eARC port and optical input; connect the TV optical output to the soundbar optical input for audio, though eARC features such as Dolby Atmos passthrough require an HDMI eARC connection.

How can I verify the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping is active after setup?

Run Sound Field Optimisation from the remote; the soundbar emits test tones, measures room reflections, then displays "Optimisation Complete" on its front panel when the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping profile is applied.

Does the box contain the Amber screen cleaner and protection plan paperwork, or must I order them separately?

The bundle ships with the HT-A8000 soundbar, remote control, HDMI cable, power cord, wall-mount template, a 200 ml Amber screen cleaner spray and the 2-year Amber Protection plan documentation.
