BRAVIA Theater Quad System

The Sony HT-A9M2 is a 4.0.4-channel home theater sound system that uses four separate slim speakers to create spatial audio from all directions. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS formats for object-based surround sound. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming. The bundle adds a six-year Amber protection plan and a screen cleaner.

Upgrade From a Single Soundbar

A traditional single-bar system cannot match the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping that four distributed speakers provide. The jump is worth it when the room layout allows speakers to be placed around the listening area for true envelopment. Buyers who need a compact all-in-one unit or who lack placement flexibility for multiple speakers will not benefit from this design.

Sustained Listening Performance

Sixteen speaker units driven by a digital S-Master HX amplifier deliver consistent room-filling output during long movies or music sessions. Sound Field Optimization calibrates the array to the room so tonal balance remains stable over time. Night and Voice modes reduce dynamic range without introducing distortion at lower volumes.

Questions about this item

How much space do the four slim speakers need?

Each speaker measures 11.50 inches wide, 5.13 inches deep and 12.13 inches high, so plan for that footprint times four in your room layout.

What is the most common setup mistake with the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping?

Skipping the Sound Field Optimization step after placing the speakers leaves the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping uncalibrated, so run the auto-calibration before the first movie night.

When will the included Amber screen cleaner need replacing?

The bundle supplies a 6.8oz 200ml spray bottle; replace it when the liquid runs out, which depends on how often you clean the speaker grilles and any paired display.
