QD-OLED television for bright rooms and gaming

This 55-inch Sony XR80M2 combines Quantum Dot colour with self-lit OLED pixels for pure blacks and high peak brightness. The XR processor uses AI scene recognition to optimise every frame. Google TV provides streaming apps and voice control, while four HDMI inputs support 4K 120 Hz sources.

Living-room viewers wanting premium HDR

Buyers who need a smaller screen for a desk or a larger panel for a home cinema should consider other sizes. The built-in 2.0 speaker system relies on Acoustic Surface Audio+, so enthusiasts planning a full surround setup will still want external speakers.

120 Hz refresh rate with four HDMI 2.1 ports

The panel refreshes at 120 Hz and all four HDMI sockets accept 4K 120 Hz signals with VRR and ALLM. This specification decides whether the TV can handle high-frame-rate gaming from a PlayStation 5 or a modern graphics card without compromise.

Questions about this item

Will the 120Hz panel and four HDMI inputs handle my current AV receiver and game consoles without extra adapters?

The TV provides four HDMI inputs and a 120Hz refresh rate, so you can connect a receiver and multiple consoles directly; the built-in eARC support on one HDMI port returns audio to the receiver.

How can I confirm the XR Processor and QD-OLED panel are delivering the promised 4K 120Hz performance after installation?

Open the Game Menu or the Eco Settings Dashboard — both report the active signal resolution and refresh rate in real time, letting you verify 3840 x 2160 at 120Hz.

Does the box include the Amber screen cleaner and the stand that fits a soundbar, or must I buy them separately?

The bundle ships with the TV, the Amber screen cleaner, the stand designed to accommodate a soundbar, the remote, batteries and the power cable — no extra purchase required.
