What this lamp replaces

The Sony LMPC121 is a new 120W projector lamp module built for the VPL-CX2 model. It arrives as a complete housing with a Philips UHP bulb already fitted, so the part is ready to fit without extra assembly.

Lamp life by mode

In normal operation the lamp is rated for 2,000 hours; switching to economy mode extends the rating to 3,000 hours. Choose the mode that matches how often you run the projector.

Installation and common issues

The pre-assembled housing lets you swap the old module in a few minutes with basic tools. The most frequent problem is forgetting to reset the projector's lamp-hour counter after fitting the new unit.

Questions about this item

How bright will the 120W lamp be in a real projector?

The 120W UHP bulb delivers the rated brightness for the VPL-CX2 series; actual screen luminance depends on the projector optics and ambient light.

Does the lamp module use a specific connector or standard that limits compatibility?

It is built as a direct-fit module for the Sony VPL-CX2 (LMPC121) with the original housing and connector, so no adapter is needed.

What physical space does the assembled lamp and housing require inside the projector?

The unit matches the original VPL-CX2 lamp dimensions exactly, fitting the existing lamp cage without modification.
